OVERVIEW

ENGAGE WITH AIRLINES TO TAKE COLLECTIVE ACTION

Together with partners, we collaborate on training workshops for airlines to help enhance the knowledge and capabilities of their staff. This focuses on policies and internal guidelines, response mechanisms, and recognising tell-tale signs of wildlife trafficking. We’re also supporting airlines in prohibiting illegal trade via their routes, and creating awareness materials targeting passengers to help drive down global demands.

'UNITED FOR WILDLIFE'

EWS-WWF works with ‘United for Wildlife’ coalition that brings the private sector and NGOs together on a mission to stamp out the illegal trade of wildlife. The coalition is made of a collective of seven top environmental NGOs – including WWF International – and a transport taskforce of private sector transport and supply chain entities, including DP World, Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways.

SUPPORTING A FEDERAL LEVEL AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

To help drive home the message against buying illegal wildlife specimens, we’ll be working with national stakeholders, Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, and private sector partners, through the CITES National Committee. Targeted towards the general public, traders, breeders and pet shop owners, the goal of the campaign is to drive down demand for endangered species as pets.
