Emirates Wildlife Society (EWS) is a UAE environmental non-governmental organization, established under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s representative in the Western Region and Chairman of Environmental Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD).
EWS works in association with WWF, one of the world’s largest and most respected independent conservation organizations. EWS-WWF has been active in the UAE since 2001 and has successfully initiated and implemented several conservation and education projects and initiatives in the region.
EWS-WWF works federally and in the region with offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Fujairah and is governed by a local board of directors.
Job summary
The Marketing Communications Intern will supporting the successful delivery of the marketing and events activities that support fund-raising and brand visibility for the Business Development Unit and promote the work of EWS-WWF in the UAE. The role holder will work closely with the Events & Marketing Officer and the Events & Marketing Manager.
The Marketing Communications Intern will support the liaison between internal and external stakeholders including the communications team, business development team (internally) and donors and supporters from the government and private sectors (externally).  
Key Responsibilities
Marketing and Communication Generalist
Contribute to the successful implementation of marketing plans to enhance the funding proposition and promote the community engagement programmes of EWS-WWF including Earth Hour UAE
Support the delivery of digital marketing content for emails, photo asset library, etc. template design, event materials, including copywriting and graphic design
  1. Design and deliver marketing communication materials for campaign delivery and event activation
  2. Design and deliver other relevant tasks as required by the line manager.
  3. Support the implementation of major marketing activities to promote the work of EWS-WWF and facilitate funding from partners and stakeholders.
  4. Organise and support the delivery of Community events – including Earth Hour - that build brand engagement and add value to partner relationship strategy.
  5. Support the process to recruit and manage and brief Event Volunteers to ensure the successful delivery of events.
  6. Represent the organisation positively in public at all times by acting as a professional representative and ambassador.
Follow all administrative systems and procedures, including invoices processes, submitting expense reimbursements, M&E reports, and so on by the deadlines assigned, as well as submitting content for the organizational calendar and informing other staff of activities and whereabouts
  • Participate actively in weekly team workshops and monthly team meeting and other meetings when requested.
  • Plan and report on personal performance indicators
Required qualifications
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is essential
  • Demonstrated experience of successful delivery of projects in a professional organisation
  • Basic Knowledge of marketing communication for campaign management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, and Outlook
  • Bachelor Degree in marketing, events and/or corporate relations management.
  • Certificate in graphic design and/or digital design

  • UAE driver’s license and own vehicle
  • Interest in all aspects of the environment, wildlife, terrestrials, green energy and other topics that are undertaking by EWS-WWF is essential.

Internal – Liaise with Communications, Business Development, Conservation and Operations teams
External – Liaise with existing and potential donors and private sector partners
