JOB SPECIFICATION
POSITION:             Education Intern (UNPAID)
REPORTING TO: Education Coordinator
DATES REQUIRED: Start Date: ASAP (indefinite post with a minimum commitment of 6 months)
BASED: Dubai
 
JOB SUMMARY
The Education volunteer’s primary responsibility is to support the Education Team with tasks related to the development and launch of a new regional education strategy. Tasks will include data entry, proposal writing, research and assistance with programme development.
 
KEY COMPETENCIES
EWS-WWF focus – acts as a member of EWS-WWF, placing higher priority on EWS-WWF’s goals than own goals and anticipating the effects of own areas’ actions on others to ensure holistic EWS-WWF outcomes

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibility is to assist the Education Team with tasks related to:
- Mapping of various youth engagement initiatives (local and global) through online research
- Identifying relevant contacts and developing background profiles on programme models
- Reviewing and analyzing feedback
- Compiling summarized research material into an easy-to-digest format
- Organizing workshops and events
- Working closely with the Communications and Marketing team to create communications around the Education projects
- Assisting in programme development on the topic of Biodiversity
- Provide administrative support to the Education team
- Coordination with other WWF offices
 
REQUIREMENTS
- Passion for conservation and environmental issues
- Strong communication skills (confidence in speaking on the phone to corporate partners)
- Excellent research skills and ability to share information in an organized way
- Attention to detail
- Event organization experience
- Experience with program design and development
- Design skills (preferred)
- A mature, creative individual who can work with minimal supervision and is resourceful and reliable
- Pleasant disposition with good interpersonal skills, hardworking, innovative team-player and committed
- Good knowledge of MS Office
- Adaptable, flexible, able to take initiative and prioritize among competing demands
 
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- 20 - 30 hours weekly
- Based in Dubai EWS-WWF office with potential travel to Abu Dhabi EWS-WWF office
