Background
Emirates Wildlife Society (EWS) is a UAE environmental non-governmental organization, established under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s representative in the Western Region and Chairman of Environmental Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD). EWS works in association with WWF, one of the world’s largest and most respected independent conservation Organizations. EWS-WWF has been active in the UAE since 2001 and has successfully initiated and implemented several conservation and education projects and initiatives in the region. EWS-WWF works federally and in the region with offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Fujairah and is governed by a local board of directors.
 
Job summary
The Coordinator - Communications reports to the Brand and Communications Manager and is responsible for implementing all digital communications activities for EWS-WWF including the website, email marketing, social media, analytics and content production. The Coordinator - Communications also plays a central and integral role in coordinating the efforts of the communications team, primarily through the effective management of all communications calendars and databases. As integral member EWS-WWFs communications team; he/she keeps abreast of trends and implements effective digital communications initiatives to key audiences.
 
Key Responsibilities Key Performance Indicators
DIGITAL

Website (20%)
  • Ensure the website content is accurate and up-to-date (implement process for periodic and ad-hoc review).
  • Publish, edit, and update website pages through CMS, or for more complex updates, with the external web teams.
  • Ensure website is up to date with latest Global WWF Digital best practice developments.
  • Work with Manger to plan and implement appropriate SEO and SEM.
  • Work with Manager to create a process for and use data and analytics tools to increase traffic, retention and call to action response on website.
Social Media (30%)
  • Act as the central point for all social media platforms.
  • Manage EWS-WWF’s presence and community on all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube etc.).
  • Lead content calendar development, implement it daily.
  • Keep up to date on all platforms and industry trends.
  • Create and implement strategies to optimize and increase audience engagement on selected social media platforms.
  • Work with Manager to create a process for and use of data and analytics tools to optimize and evolve social media platforms.
Online advertising (5%)
  • Work with Manager and Marketing Manager to make recommendations for online advertising campaigns for communications and BD.
  • Implement any online advertising
  • Use data and analytics to provide campaign reports and intelligence for future online ad spend.
 
Email Marketing (5%)
  • Implement communications email marketing campaigns.
  • Create and implement strategies to optimize use of email marketing (for communications).
  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleanup of comms email list.
  • Provide campaign reports and look to use intelligence (including results from testing) to evolve all email marketing campaigns.
COMMUNICATIONS

Central coordination (40%)
  • PUpdate all communications calendars – events, 6 months at a glance, editorial and social
  • PIn coordination with external suppliers, supplying information, facilitating contract finalization, and coordinating invoices and payments (Invoices to be in alignment with EWS-WWF payment cycle)
  • PMaintaining and keeping Box for Comms organized
  • PManaging agenda, calendar invite and minutes of weekly Comms meeting
  • PResponsible for keeping track of available media buys (pro-bono or paid), and documenting brand presence
  • PResponsible for updating media lists
  • PResponsible for coordinating printing, keeping track of report numbers
  • PMaintain an up to date suppliers lists, with notes on performance and tips (on Sales Force)
  • PMaintaining a well-organized photo database (Flickr) for the organization (All shared photos are uploaded with appropriate copyright within 2 weeks
  • PResponsible for keeping track of available media buys (pro-bono or paid), and documenting brand presence
  • PResponsible for updating salesforce regularly

Required qualifications
Skills Experience
 
  • 3+ years of professional experience in relevant field
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Arabic is an advantage
  • Highly organized, able to work independently with limited supervision
