Emirates Wildlife Society in association with WWF is the leading local environmental NGO with a regional reach which is committed to helping our society to redefine its relationship with our planet so that people live in harmony with nature.

Because a healthy environment is the foundation for a strong economy and thriving society, we partner with government, businesses and civil society across multiple long-term conservation initiatives designed to protect the UAE’s natural heritage - our climate, seas, land and the biodiversity that lives within it. Our work typically comprises science, research, policy, education and awareness to ensure alignment of future development with sustainability.

Although there are substantial challenges ahead, we believe that our economy, society and the environment can thrive side by side and together we can build a sustainable future for all – a future in which people live in harmony with nature. Established under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, under the Ministry of Community and Development, EWS-WWF has been a prominent and active partner in environmental conservation in our region for over 15 years. We have a local board of directors and represent the global WWF network in the GCC, which has over 50 years’ experience in environmental conservation and is supported by more than five million people worldwide.
